However, to relieve such pains, you should keep the cold packs on aching area for as long as twenty minutes.

You can then apply hot packs on aching area where you applied cold packs. However, hot packs should not be applied over scar tissues nether should they be applied if you have bad circulation of blood. Hot packs too need twenty minutes to be affective on the aching area. Avoid heating pads because they are believed to be unsafe by most of the experts. Taking a shower with hot, steamy water can also help, or you can use hydrocollaters on that area. Hydrocollater are easily available on medical stores.

A useful strategy is to put a rolled up towel behind your lower back while sitting. This would provide lumber support. However, if you are suffering from spine stenosis, or spondylolisthesis, avoid this strategy or you would develop irritation.

While sitting, prefer using the chair with armrests, so that you might be able to relax by lowering yourself. do not put your legs directly in front of you and do not bend when getting up from the chair. Moreover, do not twist your body while getting up from sitting posture. Do not sit for long hours.
